Some of the first urban vertical farming designs were made by American designer Chris
Jacobs, and architect Blake Kurasek in collaboration with one of the early pioneers of the
vertical farming concept, Dr. Dickson Despommier of Columbia University. Urban building
farming designs aim to be energy-sufficient, recycle water by condensation and purification,
and produce sufficient food for the building habitants. What´s not to like?
