Vertical gardens allow better energy use in buildings!

The aesthetic value of a vertical garden is indisputable, but that is not all about. Vertical gardens contribute with acoustic insulation of 8 decibels and thermal insulation of +/- 5 degrees. There are three elements in the vertical system that contributes to thermal insulation.

  1. The plants on the façade act as an insulation cover due to the combined effects of evapotranspiration, shading and reflection of sunlight.

  2. The EPP (expanded polypropylene) layer installed between the façade and the vertical system.

  3. The airgap between the building façade and the vertical system evacuates by heat by air convection.
